Kidderminster based firm, Signal Traffic Management, has become the first traffic management company to gain ISO 45001 certification from leading certification body Alcumus ISOQAR. The UKAS accredited certificate demonstrates their compliance to the world’s first international standard for occupational health and safety management systems.
As well as creating consistency around the world, the new standard enables organisations to successfully manage risk, helps ensure compliance with legislation and creates and maintains a safe and healthy working environment for anyone affected by a company’s activities, including the general public.
In addition to helping Signal Traffic Management become more efficient, the company is hoping the new certification will enable it to expand its clientele and successfully tender for future contracts. As one of the UK’s leading UKAS accredited certification bodies, which was at the forefront of the development and introduction of the new standard, Alcumus ISOQAR was appointed by Signal Traffic Management to oversee the certification process.
The award complements other UKAS accredited certificates which Signal Traffic Management achieved at the same time, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, NHSS 12A/B and NHSS 12 D. Indeed, all of the standards were achieved without a single nonconformity.
Sarah Eaton, Managing Director of Signal Traffic Management, said:
“Our significant growth can be attributed to our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, service and health and safety systems, keeping both our employees, clients and the public safe. We operate in an extremely crowded market place and we believe being the first traffic management company to obtain this certification will help us be more competitive while demonstrating our continued commitment to health and safety.”
Helen Jones, Managing Director of Alcumus ISOQAR, added: “It’s really encouraging to see more and more businesses take health and safety seriously and realise the benefits these standards can have on a business. It not only demonstrates you are an ethical business which takes its responsibilities seriously, it also makes financial sense.”
