What will you be learning?

This course is designed to support learners to achieve an understanding of the purpose and intent of an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) for various types of AI, while providing the tools and knowledge to conduct an effective audit of these systems.

Delegates who successfully complete the course will be able to:

  • Understand the benefits and reasons for having an AIMS
  • Explain the purpose and intent of the ISO42001 and associated series of documents
  • Describe the requirements of ISO42001:2023
  • Perform external audits to ISO42001:2022

By the end of the course successful students will be able to: 

  • Explain the purpose and business benefits of an AIMS, of AI management systems standards, of management system audit and of third-party certification.
  • Explain the role of an auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow up an AI management system audit in accordance with ISO 19011 (and ISO 17021 where appropriate).
  • Explain the role of an auditor to plan, conduct, and follow up an AIMS audit in accordance with ISO 19011 and the guidance criteria contained in ISO42006.
  • Plan, conduct, report and follow up an audit of an Artificial Intelligence Management Systems to establish conformity (or otherwise) with ISO/IEC42001 in accordance with ISO 19011 (and ISO 17021 where appropriate).
