What is ISO 3834?
Fabrication and Welding companies are already familiar with ISO 9001, which outlines strict compliance to quality management systems. However, ISO 9001 doesn’t explicitly cover management systems regards fabrication, welding and allied processes. As such ISO 9001 certification isn’t sufficiently detailed in ensuring that the requirements for welded products are covered.
BS EN ISO 3834 Quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials is specially designed to determine the recommended quality conditions of products directly or indirectly affected by welding processes.
As with other management systems, BS EN ISO 3834 should be strictly adhered to during the design, material selection and control, manufacture and inspection of metal products.
